Storm could disrupt air and land travel during one of the busiest times of year. Nearly 70 million people are under winter storm watches or warnings in the Midwest, Great Lakes and Appalachians. Blizzard warnings have been issued for parts of the Upper Midwest and Plains. Wind gusts could reach 65 mph near Great Lakes, causing significant tree damage and power outages. Temperatures will be the lowest in decades during the month of December. Flash freeze on East Coast could send temperatures plummeting 25 degrees or more in a few hours.
