More than 130 House Republicans voted to reject the elector slates submitted by Arizona, Pennsylvania or both. Text-message chains show that many who ultimately tried to block Arizona’s and Pennsylvania’s electors were agitating to keep Trump in power. Around 30 of those who voted on the issue weren’t on the ballot in November. Politicians who voted to block both Pennsylvania and Arizona’s electoral votes were more likely to leave office. Those who voted for both were also from more-Democratic districts. Analysis shows little difference between the two groups of legislators in 2022 and 2020 presidential margins.
