Republicans from Missouri adopt a tighter house dress code, but just for women

Missouri House tightens dress code for female lawmakers. Changes were spearheaded by a co-sponsor who wanted to require women wear blazers in the chamber. The state House eventually approved a modified version of the proposal. Missouri state Rep. Erin Proudie proposed an updated dress code for women in the House of Representatives. The move was decried as sexist by Democrats, who questioned why it was a priority. Men also have a dress code to abide by, but no changes were proposed on Wednesday.
